Recreative Art Center invites adults of all ages to share their passions and talents in active arts with at-risk youth. Volunteers often benefit as much and more than the people they serve. It is very rewarding to see the progress a young person, who is experiencing difficult challenges, makes while you are mentoring and providing a role model. Recreative Art Center develops partnerships with organizations that serve youth in Phoenix. Regularly scheduled activities with professional instructors and caring adult volunteers provide welcome fun for youth in group homes and behavior health and substance abuse facilities. Activities are process and person oriented, so everyone who participates can enjoy the camaraderie while learning and progressing at their own pace. You may learn more about us, meet our instructors, and try a basic art form in one of our adult classes. See the calendar and activities pages for more information. You may volunteer to assist a professional instructor and to be a role model during a youth class.
